Navel Tomato

It's the harvest time in my organic farm: tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis and colored peppers! Today I found this unique tomato and called it 'navel tomato'. Nature is the most fantastic designer and creator with a sense of humor. This tomato just reminds me of the heart-shaped potato in Varda's wonderful documentary The Gleaners and I, the perfect visual metaphor of the film's essence.

Earth Day special

This morning I got this special photo from my friend Linda in Pittsburgh. She was reading a book when camping early April, then this spider showed up. She snapped a quick shot and the framed words accidentally formed a magical message: Nature's Talking! What a special gift for the Earth Day:)

Happy Mouse Year!

Chinese new year is around the corner. I realized I've spent 8 new years in a row in US, really miss the holiday atmosphere in Beijing! Since mouse appears first among the 12 zodiac animals, a whole new cycle will soon begin!

Although in real life mice/rats have been strongly repelled by human, they are usually the shining stars in cartoons and animations. Let's take a look -

Mickey Mouse as Disney icon

the genius mouse chef in Ratatouille

cutie Jerry in Tom & Jerry, the never-ending story between Cat and Mouse

Mouse becomes an adorable pet in Stuart Little

Mouse even made it to the Mars in this German cartoon

All I Need to Know About Life I Learned from My Cat

We stayed at Cat Nap Inn, a cat-themed cabin, during the Great Smoky Mountains trip. A picture in the bathroom titled All I Need to Know About Life I Learned from My Cat caught my eye - that also explains my obsession with Garfield :P

Life is hard and then you nap.

Curiosity never killed anything except maybe a few hours

Variety is the spice of life: One day ignore people, the next day
annoy them, and play with them when they're busy.

Climb your way to the top -- that's why the drapes are there.

Never sleep alone when you can sleep on someone's face.

Make your mark in the world -- or at least spray in each corner.

When you go out into the world, always remember, being placed on a pedestal is a right, not a privilege.

Another funny wall art says:

A BALANCED DIET IS A COOKIE IN EACH HAND :)
